Have you ever had that eureka or back-of-the-fag packet, idea moment?
What happened to that idea?
NDRC’s Inventorium Open Mic Idea Jam is your chance to shout about that idea.
So how will the night work?
You will have 3 minutes to stand up and bravely pitch your most inspired and imaginative idea to an audience that will include everyone from venture capitalists to curious passers-by, who will ask questions and give you instant feedback.
This is a chance for you to:
- Share ideas
- Practice pitching
- Start conversations
- Form brave new partnerships
- Receive advice on how to apply for NDRC’s LaunchPad and other seed capital programmes
And remember, what you pitch is as exciting as how you pitch. It’s your 3 minutes, so give it your all!
Anyone is more than welcome to come along and observe.

GeoVation Challenge: Inventorium Idea & Team Generation Day
There is £115, 000 worth of prizes for good ideas on ’How can we transform neighbourhoods in Britain together?’ and even more prizes for ideas that can support visitors and communities on the new ’Wales Coastal Path’. These prizes are part of Ordnance Survey’s GeoVation Challenges.
On St.Davids Day, Inventorium invite innovators to an informal workshop aimed at forming teams with ideas which can crack the GeoVation Challenges.
GeoVation Challenges will be solved by teams with diverse knowledge of technology, business and the needs of society. Ordnance Survey will fund the ideas making best use of Ordnance Survey data, including OS OpenData and OS OpenSpace.
The ‘How can we transform neighbourhoods in Britain together?‘ Challenge runs until 28 March and the best ideas will be invited to a weekend GeoVation Camp inSouthampton from18 – 20 May 2012. The finalists from this camp will be invited to a GeoVation Showcase on 20 June 2012 to pitch for a share of the funding.
Details of the ‘Wales Coastal Path’ Challenge will to be announced soon.
At the Inventorium workshop attendees will meet potential partners, work up ideas and formulate them as submissions to the Challenge

There will be structured activity from 09.30 until 13.00 followed by flexible support and engagement for those who want to drop in.
Sialens GeoVation Diwrnod Creu Syniadau a Thimau Inventorium
Mae gwerth £115, 000 o wobrau ar gael am syniadau da ynghylch ‘Sut gallwn ni drawsnewid cymdogaethau ym Mhrydain gyda’n gilydd?’ a hyd yn oed fwy o wobrau am syniadau i gefnogi ymwelwyr a chymunedau ar hyd y llwybr newydd, ‘Llwybr Arfordir Cymru’. Mae’r gwobrau hyn yn rhan o Sialensiau GeoVation yr Arolwg Ordnans.
Ar ddydd Gŵyl Dewi, mae Inventorium yn gwahodd arloeswyr i weithdy anffurfiol gyda’r nod o ffurfio timau â syniadau fydd yn gallu datrys Sialensiau GeoVation.
Bydd Sialensiau GeoVation yn cael eu datrys gan dimau sydd â gwybodaeth amrywiol am dechnoleg, busnes ac anghenion cymdeithas. Bydd yr Arolwg Ordnans yn ariannu’r syniadau sy’n gwneud defnydd gora o’r ddata, gan gynnwys OS OpenData ac OS OpenSpace.
Mae Sialens ‘Sut gallwn ni drawsnewid cymdogaethau ym Mhrydain gyda’n gilydd?’ yn rhedeg tan 28 Mawrth a bydd y syniadau gorau yn cael gwahoddiad i benwythnos Gwersyll GeoVation yn Southampton rhwng 18 a 20 Mai 2012. Bydd y rhai fydd yn cyrraedd y rownd derfynol yn y gwersyll hwnnw yn cael eu gwahodd i Sioe Arddangos GeoVation ar 20 Mehefin 2012 i roi cynnig am gyfran o’r arian.
Bydd manylion Sialens ‘Llwybr Arfordir Cymru’ yn cael eu cyhoeddi cyn bo hir.
Yng ngweithdy Inventorium bydd y rhai sy’n cymryd rhan yn cwrdd â darpar bartneriaid, gweithio ar syniadau a’u troi’n gyflwyniadau ar gyfer y Sialens.

With technologists and developers to discuss some of the key problems being faced by the culture sector in Wales such as:
- Finding an audience
- Raising money
- Managing events

We will then work in teams to develop new ideas for how some of these problems could be solved in Wales and how this could lead to the development of new businesses opportunities.

What happens to your eureka moments?
What do you do with your great idea after you jot it on a napkin?
Inventorium’s Open Mic Jam is your chance to share the best ideas you’ve written on napkins, scrawled on beer mats, and scribbled across your hand.
Anyone can come along, even if you don’t have an idea!
You’ll have three minutes to stand up and bravely pitch your most inspired and imaginative idea to an audience that will have everyone from funders to curious passers-by, who will ask questions and give you instant feedback.
The best ideas will receive support from the Inventorium team on how to further develop their ideas into successful business models.
Our Open Mic Idea Jam is a chance for you to share ideas, practice pitching, start conversations, and form brave new partnerships.
We’re inviting leading funders, government and business organisations including Visit Wales, Xenos, Business Link, FSB and Software Alliance Wales to be in the audience. These organisations are as eager for new ideas as you are.
Because ideas can come from anywhere, and you never know where you could meet the people who hold the pieces, or who have the skills you need to make your idea happen.
You might find:
- Your future business partners
- People who will invest in your idea
- A confidant or champion of your idea
- An important critical friend
- Designers, developers, content specialists who want to work with you
- Commercial leaders who have the money and knowledge to back you
And remember, what you pitch is as exciting as how you pitch. It’s your three minutes, so give them your best stuff!

Mae sesiwn Meic Agored Inventorium yn gyfle i chi rannu’r syniadau gorau rydych wedi’u hysgrifennu ar napcyn, ar fat cwrw, ac ar gefn eich llaw.
Mae croeso i unrhyw un alw draw, hyd yn oed heb syniad!
Bydd gennych dri munud i sefyll ar eich traed, bod yn ddewr a chyflwyno eich syniad mwyaf ysbrydoledig a dychmygus i gynulleidfa a fydd yn cynnwys pawb o arianwyr i bobl chwilfrydig, fydd yn gofyn cwestiynau a rhoi eu hymateb yn y fan a’r lle.
