10 March, 2011

Rhyader, Wales

The aim of this workshop was to bring together ideas, people and digital tools to build solutions, and create exciting new ways to engage with the public in Wales who use the outdoor environment.

Attendees came from many of the organisations in Wales who work within the outdoor context including CCW, Visit Wales, RSPB, Forestry Commission Wales, Welsh Government and Ramblers Cymru.

Teams were taken through a series of activities to generate new ideas, which were presented to the whole group and people then selected the best and formed teams to develop them further.

The final ideas were worked up and user case studies presented back t the room – ideas included a new social ecotourism experience, which will leverage the All Wales Coastal Path and Offa’s Dyke Trail to develop new markets for the age demographic that has social media as a cornerstone of their lifestyle.
